Students will learn the production processes applied across manufacturing operations.  Students will be able to demonstrate a broad array of technical skills with an emphasis given to quality practices, measurement, maintenance and safety.  Students may participate in “SkillsUSA,” which is a career-technical student organization aimed to develop leadership and academic skills.  Students in this course may earn college credit.  This course teaches the basics of working with wood.  The class emphasizes the use of hand tools in completing projects.  Standard project number two slowly exposes the student to power machinery used in woodworking.  There is considerable emphasis on both shop procedures and safety.
