On behalf of the Bellefontaine High School Staff, we warmly welcome all students and our families to Bellefontaine High School for 2018-2019Go Chiefs! BHS is committed to providing a school experience that encourages all students to become strong citizens through pursuit of academic learning, community engagement, and personal growth. BHS provides an exceptional academic program balanced with quality systems of student support and extracurricular opportunities.

As a Chieftain at BHS, if you can dream it, you can make it happen here.  Our students have tremendous academic and extracurricular success.  It is our hope that all students can find their own pathways and their own strengths.  As we look forward to next year, we are celebrating the outstanding successes of students from this past year.

Some of these successes include:

Our students are always serving the community! In 2018, our students logged 2,394.59 community service hours towards the Heart of a Chieftain award.

Chieftain generosity is awesome! In 2018, our staff and students raised $13,742.63 in charity activities including: Homecoming Fireworks, Breast Cancer “Pink Out,” Genes for Jeans, Relay for Life, as well as several events to help staff and students in need.  This does not include events for clubs, teams, holiday gifts, or coat drives.

Chieftains earned scholarships to advance their careers! In 2018, our students reported $1,724,975 in college scholarships and $195,059 were local scholarships. Our academic programming and coursework is full of career pathway options and advanced coursework, where students can earn college credit through almost a full two years of college. Students can take courses and compete in national competitions in STEM, Arts & Communication, Business & Entrepreneurship, and Health & Human Services. If you can dream it, you can achieve it.

Chieftains are Champions! Our extracurriculars were full of champions in 2018, including 6 CBC championships, 1 OMEA superior rating, 4 OMEA excellent ratings, 1 athletic team state qualifier, 1 athletic team state runner up, 1 athletic team regional championship, 7 individual state qualifiers, 2 national FCCLA qualifiers, 6 engineering team national qualifiers, and a 16th place finish in the World Robotics Championship.

BHS appreciates student and family involvement. If you would like to be a part of these teams and our Chieftain success, we would love to have you! To learn more about our programs, please explore our new Bellefontaine City Schools website or contact the high school.

Welcome to BHS, where it is always a great day to be a Chief! We wish everyone a great 2018-2019 school year!

With Chieftain Pride,

Dr. Noeth                                Mr. Abbott                  Mr. Comstock
