College Application Event

BHS College Application Events

Early Action Event- Thursday, September 19th 7:45 am-7:00 pm 
Regular Action Event- Thursday, November 14th 7:45 am-7:00 pm
Students should sign up at for a time they would like to attend. 



Go to college website you plan to apply to and begin application.  If you are unsure where you want to apply, skip to number 5.

If you qualify for Free or Reduced lunch ask a Counselor for an Application Fee Waiver form.  You will need to sign a Fee Waiver form for each college/university you are applying to. 

Use your handout provided to make a list of additional items you need to submit with your application (such as: essay, transcript, SAT or ACT scores, recommendation letters)

For your records print out a copy (or take a picture) of your confirmation page after submitting your application. Also make sure to keep any confirmation email that you may receive after applying. 

Also, make sure to keep track of all log-in information and passwords for accounts you create. Use the handout given out at the event if you need a common place to keep everything. 

2.REQUEST YOUR TRANSCRIPT be sent to the schools you apply

Set up your Parchment account: Parchment Account Activation

If you do not have your Parchment Activation Sheet, see your counselor for you log in code.

We also send transcripts through the Common Application, Send Edu, MyBGSU, and other platforms.  Check with your Counselor to be sure your transcript is sent.  DO NOT assume that because you have applied, that we know to send your transcript. Use school email to communicate with your counselor.

3. Complete the FAFSA - you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is available starting October 1.  To sign your electronic FAFSA you have to create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID)

4. Apply for Scholarships

BHS Scholarship Page -Local scholarship page will be active beginning January 23rd.  Plan to attend our Launch Meeting that evening at 6:00 pm in the DLC!
