Graduation 2020

It is almost graduation time!  I am excited to announce that we have now finalized our graduation plan, and it has been approved through Health Department.  Many thanks to Dr. Hoddinott who worked with us to ensure that this graduation will be unique, family-oriented, and safe for everyone in attendance.  It is truly a great day to be a Chieftain!! Please see the note and links below to begin the Sign Up Process for our graduation walk on May 15th. Please use the Sign Up Genius at this link: We will air graduation on our YouTube Channel and at our Virtual Facebook Watch Party at 7 pm on May 22nd.

We will send a Walk Instruction List next week, and will release a Practice Walk Video so that all families will know what to do when they arrive that day.  Here are a few things that are very important to know to comply with Ohio's social distancing requirements for Friday, May 15th:

1. Students MUST sign up to be included in the celebration by Monday, May 11th at 8 a.m. If you do not sign up for a time slot, you will not be permitted to walk.  Names of all graduating seniors, regardless of whether or not they are participating on the 15th, will be read and a picture on file will be added to the video. We have time slots allocated for social distancing purposes. If you are a student in the Top 10 graduating seniors based on your GPA or you are a student taking the AP US History Test, you will complete your walk starting at 11 am. If you know you are in one of these two groups, please do not sign up for a slot. The final Top 10 will be released next week. If you are unsure or whether or not you are in this group, please sign up for a slot. We will also be taping speeches and special events prior to the walk in the morning.  We will inform you if you are part of that filming set.

2. All graduating seniors and guests need to wear masks for the entire time you are on campus.

3. Seniors may bring only 6 guests to the event (not including themselves). This is also to comply with social distancing requirements.  We do advise families to consider who is coming with you. If you have not been around your family consistently, please observe social distancing with them while on campus.  We do not recommend that any medically fragile family members attend campus.

4. All of the steps of the ceremony have been approved for safety by the Health Department.

5. Professional photos will be taken by Tony Barrett in the DLC and available for purchase. One 8x10 picture = $12. two 5x7 pictures = $16.

6. We have several "stations" that families will stop at to be held at socially distant places.  Many of these are "silent" as we do not want to interfere with the video being recorded in the auditorium.

7. Seniors will walk across the stage with families and turn their tassels - right to left.  Their selected teacher will read their names.  The ceremony will conclude outside the DLC where all seniors will be able to ring the Victory Bell upon exit from the campus. Please observe social distancing practices while on campus.

I am very excited to finish the year strong with the Class of 2020! You guys are amazing.  The Sign Up Genius information is also below.  See you soon, Chiefs!
