LCEF Common Form

LOGAN COUNTY EDUCATION FOUNDATION COMMON FORM APPLICATION

The following scholarships use the LCEF Common Form Application. They are due to the Logan County ESC no later than March 1. If you would like for us to deliver them to the ESC for you, you must have them to the Guidance Office by February 22.


Note:  If the scholarship is part of the LCEF Common Form you will only need to complete that form one time with one transcript, although some scholarships may require additional attachments.

 

  1. BHS CLASS OF 1962 SCHOLARSHIP.  This scholarship valued at $3,159 will be awarded to a Bellefontaine graduating senior enrolled in a 4-year college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.5.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. RALPH AND WILMA BUROKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  This scholarship is valued at $11,800 and will be awarded to a Logan County graduating senior who will be majoring in an agricultural related field at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Applicants must have at least a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Deadline: March 1

 

  1. EDWARD K. CORE, JR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  One scholarship valued at $500 will be awarded to a Logan County graduating senior planning to attend a four-year institution and major in education to be a teacher.  A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.  Awarded by the Logan County Education Foundation.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. DR. JAMES F. COSTIN SCHOLARSHIP.  One scholarship valued at $500 will be awarded to a Logan County graduating senior planning to attend a four-year institution and major in a health or science-related field.  Awarded by the Logan County Education Foundation.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. DEBORAH ELLIS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP.  This $2,200 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating BHS senior who meets the following criteria: 3.2 or higher GPA, 24 or higher ACT, has taken at least four college credit plus or Advanced Placement courses taken during high school, and accepted to a two- or four-year college or university.. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. WILLIAM C. ELLIS/NANCY RATHFELDER SCHOLARSHIP. One scholarship worth $1,000 will be given to a Logan County graduating senior to help pursue a higher education degree. They must be already accepted to, or currently attending, a two- or four-year institution. Proof of family income must be shown prior to receiving funds. Family income chart is on the application.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. HOMER FUSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  This scholarship is valued at $11,800 and will be awarded to a graduating senior from Logan County. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and must plan to major in finance at an accredited four-year college or university. Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. DONALD GUMPERT SCHOLARSHIP.  This scholarship is valued at $5,966 and will be awarded to a Logan County graduating senior attending a four-year college or university.  Applicants must be an active member of their school’s Kiwanis Key Club and have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. HARRIET L. HEADINGTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  This scholarship is valued at $1,500 and is awarded to a Logan County graduating senior who plans on attending an accredited 4 year college or university.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. ISS AMERICA ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP.  A $500 scholarship is available to students that are Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake or Riverside seniors.  Applicants must be majoring in Engineering, Mathematics, and/or Science.  Transcripts must show outstanding academic achievement.  Deadline: March 1.

 

 

  1. BILLY JERVIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  Scholarship will be awarded to a Bellefontaine graduating senior who is majoring in music and/or play collegiate level soccer.  Student must be enrolled in a four-year college and must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. KEEP LOGAN COUNTY BEAUTIFUL SCHOLARSHIP.  This scholarship is valued at $500 and will be awarded to a Logan County student who is applying to a 2 or 4-year post-secondary accredited school.  Student must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and plan to major in environmental science or a related field with a plan to work on environmental problems, research, teaching or business management. Applicants must show financial need and include a short essay describing their interest in the environment and/or environmental studies using the form included in the LCEF Common Form.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. LOGAN COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIP.  One $2,000 renewable award for up to 4 years will be given to a graduating senior of a Logan County public high school. Applicants must show academic scholarship and need.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 accumulated grade point average and must plan to major in environmental sciences or a related field and plan a career in environmental services, research, teaching, etc. at a four-year college or university.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. HAZEL MOORE SCHOLARSHIP.  Two scholarships valued at $1,900 is available to a graduating senior from a public high school in Logan County enrolling or enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year post-secondary accredited school.  Applicants need a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and show financial need.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. RATLEFF SENIOR AWARD. This $600 scholarship will be awarded to an African American Bellefontaine High School senior who has documented community service activities and who will be attending a four-year college or university.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. LEWIS J. & ANNE RINGLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  This scholarship valued at $10,000 will be awarded to an applicant majoring in business or a Science related field at a public college in Ohio.  Applicant must show financial need, moral character and promising academic achievement.  Committee will be looking for an ACT score of 24 or higher, 3.2 or higher GPA, 4 CCP or AP courses taken in high school and plans to attend a 4-year accredited state supported university in Ohio.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. SHARYL SUE SHAFER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is valued at $11,800 and will be awarded to a graduating Logan County senior who plans to major in education at an accredited four-year college or university. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. SPAIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  This is a $10,200 scholarship which will be awarded to a Bellefontaine graduating senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and active in student activities.  Financial need will be considered.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. EARL C. & MARION R. SPAIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  Three scholarships valued at $10,500 is available to a graduating senior from a public high school in Logan County.  Applicants need a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and active in student activities.  Financial need will be considered.  Deadline: March 1.

 

  1. LILLIAN B. THORNTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.  This $1,200 scholarship will be awarded to a Logan County student who plans on attending an accredited 4-year college or university.  Deadline: March 1.
