SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE TO BHS GRADUATING SENIORS

Please email your counselor should you need a transcript to include with other local scholarship applications that are due during this time frame. Seniors,
The BHS Common Form for scholarships can be turned into the HS cafeteria on Wednesday, April 1st and Thursday, April 2nd between the hours of 8:00 am-12:00 pm and 2:00 pm-6:00 pm. They can also be turned in Monday, April 6th to the HS Cafeteria between the hours of 8:00 am-12:00 pm or submitted electronically to orielley@bcs-k12.org. If you are submitting electronically, it MUST be received by 3:00 pm on April 6th. Remember, April 6th is the final deadline to submit the BHS Common Form. The following scholarship applications may also be turned in during these drop off times:

Following is a list of local
scholarships available to Bellefontaine High School seniors. The list is
current as of January 23, 2020. To access the scholarship, simply click
on the title for a PDF version of the application. In some cases, you will be
able to type in the information, and in other cases you will need to print the
application and fill it in by hand. Some links may take you to a website where
you can find the application. Once completed, you will need to return the
application to the designated location.
BHS
COMMON FORM APPLICATION. The following 25 scholarships
use the BHS Common Form Application. The BHS Common Form is due in the Guidance
Office no later than April 6.
Note: If the scholarship
is part of the BHS Common
Form you will only need
to complete that form one time, although some scholarships may require
additional attachments.
- BELLEFONTAINE
CITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF
EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS. These scholarships, which are awarded by
the Bellefontaine City Schools Board of Education and are valued at up to
$1,000 each, are based on academic excellence and school and community
involvement.
- BELLEFONTAINE
EDUCATION ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS.
Applicants for these
scholarships must be pursuing a career in education or an education-related
field, such as guidance counseling or school psychology and/or one or more
of their parents must be a current or retired member of the Bellefontaine
Education Association (BEA).
- BELLEFONTAINE
EXCHANGE CLUB SCHOLARSHIP. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded
to students with at least a 2.5 GPA who will be attending either a two or
four-year school. Need and
community involvement are considered, and the student should note whether
he/she graduated from the Exchange Club’s Safety Town Program.
- BELLEFONTAINE
HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC BOOSTER SCHOLARSHIP.
Up to two $1,000
scholarships will be awarded to BHS students attending a four-year
university. Students must have a
minimum of a 3.0 GPA, have taken rigorous high school courses, and attach
a type response (250 words or less, typed, double-spaced, size 12 Times
New Roman font) to the following prompt.
“Describe a quirk, or
something that makes you unique, that differentiates you from everyone
else.” (Names of applicants will be omitted during the selection
process.)
- BELLEFONTAINE
HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI & FRIENDS SCHOLARSHIP. This
scholarship varies in availability and is awarded by a committee composed
of BHS alumni and/or supporters of BHS. Applicants must be graduating
seniors who plan to attend a two or four-year college or university and
who have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- BELLEFONTAINE
HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIPS. These
$200 scholarships will be awarded to BHS seniors who are currently members
of the National Honor Society and have turned in their NHS point sheet.
- BELLEFONTAINE
HIGH SCHOOL KEY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP. Scholarship value ranges. Applicants must be attending a 2 or
4-year college. Selection criteria
will be based heavily on service performed. Applicants are required to attach a
listing of service activities performed over the last 4 years. Membership of Key Club is preferred, but
not required.
- PATRICIA
FOREMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This $1,000 scholarship is given by the family of
Patricia Foreman, former owner and operate of the Ohio Driving School in
Bellefontaine. Applicants must have
been a former student of the driving school and be attending a 2- or 4-
year college or technical school in the Fall.
- ROBERT L. AND HELEN E. GINN MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship varies
in availability and is intended to be awarded to a BHS student who will
major in either education or business at a two or four-year school. It will be awarded by a Bellefontaine
City Schools committee.
- WESLEY
E. GRUBBS ONE WISH SCHOLARSHIP. This $500 scholarship is a one-time scholarship
in memory of Wesley E. Grubbs.
Applicants must be attending a 2- or 4-year college, university or
trade school in the Fall of 2020 and write a 250-word essay on: How extra scholarship money could help
fulfill your wish. Recipient
will need to provide a copy of their second semester schedule of their
freshman year in college for the scholarship committee.
- DON
HARRIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is valued at about $500
and is awarded to one BHS student who plans to major in Music Education at
an accredited college or university. Additional scholarships may be
awarded to qualified applicants if funds are available. This scholarship
is awarded by a committee of the BHS Music and Friends Association and was
established in memory of Donald Harris, who had a great interest in the
schools and in the music program.
- HESS
COLLINS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP. This
$1,000 scholarship is in honor of James P. Hess, founder of Hess Lumber,
and his wife Ann E. Hess, a Bellefontaine artist. This scholarship will be
awarded to a graduating BHS senior planning to attend a 4-year college to
study the arts. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or better and intend to
pursue a degree in one of the arts - performing arts, visual arts,
dramatic arts, music, film-making, graphic design, fashion design or a
related field. Scholarship will be awarded based on grades, need and
artistic talent. A recommendation from a teacher familiar with the student's
artistic talent is required.
- OHIO
ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES SCHOLARSHIP. These
scholarships are given to students who desire to attend either a two- or
four-year school. Scholarships will
be given to a child of a classified employee with Bellefontaine City
Schools and will be awarded by a special committee of the OAPSE.
- EFFIE PATTERSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Given by a late Bellefontaine resident and the
Board of Education, this scholarship varies in availability and is given
to one male student to aid in the freshman year in college.
- PEPSI
LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP. Two scholarships valued at $1,250 each will
be awarded to BHS students who have demonstrated leadership and who are
planning on attending a two- or four-year college. They will be awarded by a committee from
the Bellefontaine City Schools.
- RYAN D.
REYNOLDS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Ryan was a 1998 BHS graduate who
tragically lost his life just prior to leaving for college. In remembrance of Ryan’s smile,
enjoyment for the game of golf, and passion for life, an annual
scholarship has been established.
This $500 scholarship will be awarded by the Ryan D. Reynolds Fund
Trustees to a BHS student attending a two or four-year college.
- MONICHA P. SIMPSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship varies in availability and is
intended to be given to a student-athlete to assist during the first year
of either a two or four-year school.
- DR.
EARL SLOAN RENEWABLE BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship will be awarded to a BHS senior
pursuing post-secondary training in the study of Business, including
Accounting, Computer Information Science (programming/coding), Economics,
and Marketing/Management. It will
be awarded by a special committee of the Sloan Foundation. One scholarship in the amount of $1,000
will be available and offered as a renewable scholarship. Further should a student complete their
college education in 3 years for a 4-year degree, then such student would
be entitled to the 4th and final scholarship renewal. Applicants must have an attendance rate
of 90% (may be subject to review in the case of an extended illness), have
a minimum GPA of 2.5, demonstrate good character and citizenship, and have
financial need. Two letters of
recommendation are required.
- SONS OF AMERICAN LEGION POST 173
SCHOLARSHIPS. These scholarships
are valued at $500 each and are based on grades and need.
- STEIG-FROMAN
SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is valued at approximately
$1,000 and will be given to a student attending a two- or four-year school
to assist with the first year. It
is awarded by the trustees of the Stieg-Froman estate.
- JAMES
STOLLY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is valued at $1,000 and
was established by the A.E. Knowlton Trust in memory of a longtime Knowlton
Construction employee and supporter of Bellefontaine City Schools. The
scholarship is awarded by a Bellefontaine City Schools committee.
- DEWEY
VANHOOSE III MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This is a $500 scholarship that will be awarded
to an applicant attending Ohio University.
23. KRISTEN SILER VENNEKOTTER MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP. This
scholarship will be given to at least one BHS senior that will attend a two- or
four-year school in the Fall of 2020. This scholarship is in memory of Kristen
Siler Vennekotter, daughter of Joni Siler. Joni served Bellefontaine City
Schools for 24 years, as a para professional and elementary teacher. This
scholarship will be awarded by Bellefontaine Elementary Staff.
- DUTCH
WILDE MEMORIAL/BHS ATHLETIC BOOSTERS’ SCHOLARSHIPS. These scholarships are worth $1,000, and are
awarded to one male and one female student-athlete to assist with either a
two or four-year school. They are
awarded by a special committee of the BHS Boosters to a student-athlete or
cheerleader.
- RONALD
H. WISSE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.
This scholarship is valued at about $500 and will be given to a
student-athlete to assist during the first year of either a two or
four-year school.
LOGAN
COUNTY EDUCATION FOUNDATION COMMON FORM
APPLICATION. The following 19 scholarships use the LCEF Common Form
Application. They are due to the Logan County ESC
no later than February 28. If you would like for us to deliver them to the ESC for you, you must have them to the Guidance
Office by February 21.
- RALPH AND WILMA BUROKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This
scholarship is valued at $11,300 and will be awarded to a Logan County
graduating senior who will be majoring in an agricultural related field at
an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Applicants must
have at least a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- EDWARD
K. CORE, JR MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP. One scholarship valued at $500 will be
awarded to a Logan County graduating senior planning to attend a four-year
institution and major in education to be a teacher. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Awarded by the Logan County Education
Foundation.
- DR.
JAMES F. COSTIN SCHOLARSHIP. One scholarship valued at $500 will be
awarded to a Logan County graduating senior planning to attend a four-year
institution and major in a health or science-related field. Awarded by the Logan County Education
Foundation.
- DEBORAH
ELLIS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP. This $2,500 scholarship will be awarded
to a graduating BHS senior who meets the following criteria: 3.2 or higher
GPA, 24 or higher ACT, has taken at least four college credit plus or
Advanced Placement courses taken during high school, and accepted to a
two- or four-year college or university. Preference will be given to
students demonstrating financial need.
- WILLIAM
C. ELLIS/NANCY RATHFELDER SCHOLARSHIP. One scholarship worth $1,000 will be given to a Logan County
graduating senior to help pursue a higher education degree. They must be
already accepted to, or currently attending, a two- or four-year
institution. Proof of family income must be shown prior to receiving
funds. Family income chart is on the application.
- HOMER
FUSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is valued at $11,300
and will be awarded to a graduating senior from Logan County. Applicants
must have at least a 3.0 GPA and must plan to major in finance at an
accredited four-year college or university.
- DONALD
GUMPERT SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is valued at $4,750 and will be
awarded to a Logan County graduating senior attending a four-year college
or university. Applicants must be
an active member of their school’s Kiwanis Key Club and have a GPA of 3.0
or better.
- HARRIET L. HEADINGTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This
scholarship is valued at $1,500 and is awarded to a Logan County
graduating senior who plans on attending an accredited 4-year college or
university.
- ISS
AMERICA ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP. A $500 scholarship is available to students that
are Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake or Riverside seniors. Applicants must be majoring in
Engineering, Mathematics, and/or Science.
Transcripts must show outstanding academic achievement.
- BILLY
JERVIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Scholarships will be awarded to one or
more Bellefontaine graduating senior who is majoring in music and/or play
collegiate level soccer. Student
must be enrolled in a four-year college and must have a minimum GPA of
2.5.
- KEEP
LOGAN COUNTY BEAUTIFUL SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is valued at $500 and
will be awarded to a Logan County student who is applying to a 2 or 4-year
post-secondary accredited school.
Student must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and plan to major in
environmental science or a related field with a plan to work on
environmental problems, research, teaching or business management.
Applicants must show financial need and include a short essay describing
their interest in the environment and/or environmental studies using the
form included in the LCEF Common Form.
- LOGAN
COUNTY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE CHILDREN OF EMPLOYEES 7 TRUSTEES SCHOLARSHIP.
Applicants for this scholarship must be a son, daughter or legal
ward or resident in the household of a Logan County Electric Cooperative
employee or trustee. Students must
have a 3.0 GPA or better and be enrolled in an accredited college or
proper technical school. Applicants must be a graduating senior from a
public high school in Logan County; or reside in Logan County; and attend
a Logan County School or school with contiguous boundaries to Logan
County.
- HAZEL
MOORE SCHOLARSHIP. Two scholarships valued at $1,900 is
available to a graduating senior from a public high school in Logan County
enrolling or enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year post-secondary accredited
school. Applicants need a minimum
cumulative GPA of 2.5 and show financial need.
- RATLEFF
SENIOR AWARD. This $600
scholarship will be awarded to an African American Bellefontaine High
School senior who has documented community service activities and who will
be attending a four-year college or university.
- LEWIS
J. & ANNE RINGLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. These
scholarships valued at $10,000 each will be awarded to applicants majoring
in business or a Science related field at a public college or university
in Ohio. Applicant must show
financial need, moral character and promising academic achievement. Committee will be looking for an ACT
score of 24 or higher, 3.2 or higher GPA, and 4 CCP or AP courses taken in
high school.
- SHARYL
SUE SHAFER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.
This scholarship is valued at $11,300 and will be awarded to a graduating
Logan County senior who plans to major in education at an accredited
four-year college or university. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- EARL C.
& MARION R. SPAIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Three
scholarships valued at $10,000 each is available to a graduating senior
from a public high school in Logan County.
Applicants need a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and active in
student activities. Financial need
will be considered. Recipients can
reapply one time at the end of their college freshman year and will be
paid directly to the selected student’s college or university.
- LILLIAN B. THORNTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This
$1,300 scholarship will be awarded to a Logan County student who plans on
attending an accredited 4-year college or university.
- WICKERHAM
STEM SCHOLARSHIP. This $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a
Bellefontaine High School graduating senior pursuing a degree in science,
technology, engineering or math-related field (preference considered for
computer or electrical engineering) at a 4-year accredited public college or
university in Ohio. Applicant must
show financial need and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
THE FOLLOWING SCHOLARSHIPS USE THEIR OWN APPLICATION: Please click on the link for each

40 & 8 NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS. These
scholarships are given to students for their first year in college and are for
nursing majors only. This is a county
wide scholarship available to all Logan County schools. Deadline:
April 1.
2.
AMERICAN LEGION/HAROLD KERR POST #173 SCHOLARSHIPS. These scholarships
will be awarded to assist students in their freshman year in college. They will be awarded by a committee of the
American Legion. Deadline: April 1.
3.
AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY/HAROLD KERR UNIT #173 SCHOLARSHIPS. These scholarships
that vary in amounts will be awarded to Logan County students who are children
or grandchildren of a veteran who served in World War I or II, Korean Conflict,
or in the Vietnam Era, Grenada, or Desert Storm. Students must be in actual
need of help to continue their education. Deadline:
April 1.
4.
ASHCRAFT/BROWN SCHOLARSHIPS. One $500
scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted to either a two
or four-year College, technical school, or vocational school. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis
of leadership, financial need, character, and scholastic ability. Deadline: March 9.
5. BCYSA TAMMY ELKINS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. This
is a $500 scholarship in memory of Tammy Elkins awarded by the Bellefontaine
City Youth Soccer Association.
Applicants must have played at least one season in the BCYSA league and
be a BHS Senior attending a two- or four- year college or university in the
fall. Applications should be delivered to 135 N. Detroit St. Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Deadline: March 20.
6.
C. MICHAEL BELL SCHOLARSHIP. This
scholarship that is worth $1,000 is in memory of Charles Michael Bell—a
lifelong educator and administer of Bellefontaine City Schools where he took on
various roles including teacher, principal, business manager and superintendent
throughout his career of thirty-one years.
These scholarships will be awarded to BHS students attending a four-year
university pursuing a career in education or an education-related career (such
as school counseling or school psychology).
Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, while also contributing to
BHS and our community through extracurricular activities, leadership roles,
community service, etc. Deadline: April 6.
7.
BELLEFONTAINE LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP. This
scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior to assist in their first year
of a two or four-year institution. It is
required to attach a statement about yourself, your educational goals,
activities, awards and honors.
Consideration may be given to applicants with Lions Club
affiliation. Deadline: April 1.
8.
BELLEFONTAINE MOOSE #2563 SCHOLARSHIP. Two
scholarships valued at $500 each.
Applicants need NOT have any affiliation with the Moose to apply. All youth graduating in 2020 are welcome to
submit an application regardless of whether or not you have a family member who
is a current member of any Moose club.
The applicant must be graduating in the high school class of 2020 and
must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
A brief essay about yourself and your goals needs to be attached. Deadline: April 7.
9.
BELLEFONTAINE PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP. The amount
of this scholarship shall be $500 and will be paid at the completion of the
first quarter/semester of school. This
scholarship is awarded to high school or GED graduating students of the same year
or one year prior to application date. Preference will be given to anyone
entering the public safety or health & medical fields. This scholarship is
available to Logan County residents only.
Scholarships will be awarded based upon scholastic merit, economic need, and
goals in life. Deadline: Before 5:00pm on April 15.
10. BELLEFONTAINE
ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP. This scholarship is valued at $1,000 and is
available to graduating seniors who are residents of Logan County. Applicants
must have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Selection
will be based on merit, community service, and extracurricular activities by a
committee of the Rotary Club. Applications will be completed online through the

Deadline:
February 14.
11. BELLEFONTAINE
USBC BOWLING ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP. A $1,000 award is given to a student for
study at either a two- or four-year school.
Applicants may qualify one of two ways: 1. Must have an immediate family member
belonging to the Bellefontaine USBC
Bowling Association (parent, grandparent, brother, or sister); 2. Must be a
member of a local high school bowling team and have completed at least one full
season. Deadline: Third Monday in March.
12. MARILYN
CARNES MEMORIAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP. Applicants must be a current
Logan County 4-H/FFA member pursuing a degree in a horse- related subject,
pre-vet, or an animal science program.
Deadline: April 6.
13. FRATERNAL
ORDER OF POLICE HI-POINT LODGE #60 SCHOLARSHIP. These $500 scholarships
will be awarded by the FOP Lodge #60.
This is to assist students in the first year of either a two or
four-year school, and some preference is given to those planning to enter a law
enforcement, community, or social service field. A photo must be attached to this application. These scholarships will be awarded by a
special committee of the FOP.
Scholarship monies must be utilized/cashed by the end of the first year
of college after graduating high school.
Deadline: April 12.
14. THOMAS P.
HENNESSY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. A $1,000 scholarship will be
awarded to a Logan County student who plans to attend The Ohio State University
or any of its branches and/or has been a member of FFA, FCCLA or 4-H. Preference will be given to students with a
GPA of 2.5 or higher in all high school classes. This scholarship was established in memory of
Tom Hennessy, who was killed in a 1999 automobile accident, and was very
successful in the agriculture business. Applications
must be returned to the OSU Extension office by deadline. 1100 S. Detroit St., Bellefontaine. Deadline: April
1.
15. ZACHARIAH
W. KELLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.
This is a $1,000 scholarship
in memory of 2006 Bellefontaine High School graduate, Zack Keller. GPA and financial need will be
considered. A brief statement about you,
your goals for the future, and how this scholarship will help you achieve your
goals is required. Special consideration
will be made to members of the BHS Bowling Team. Deadline: April 11.
16. KIWANIS
CLUB OF BELLEFONTAINE SCHOLARSHIPS.
This scholarship has a value
of $1,000 and is awarded to aid a student during the freshman year in a two-year
technical school or a four-year college. Awarded by a committee of the Kiwanis
Club. Deadline: March 24.
17. LOGAN
COUNTY 4-H COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP. Two scholarships valued at $500 each for
students who are currently members of the Logan County 4-H and have completed
their projects for the current year will be awarded. The students must have a grade point average
of 2.5 or higher and be enrolled in a two or four-year undergraduate college
program or technical college program for the academic year. Deadline:
April 1.
18. LOGAN
COUNTY CATTLE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP. These scholarships are
valued at $250-$1,000. Applicants must be the child of a beef producer or be
directly engaged themselves in the production or promotion of beef. Applicants
must be a resident of Logan County or attend a Logan County school and parents
of the applicant must be active members of the Logan County Cattle Association.

19. LOGAN
COUNTY DAIRY SCHOLARSHIP. Two
$500 scholarships awarded by the Logan County Dairy Association and will be
paid to the recipient in August of the award year with proof of acceptance to
college or trade school. Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
anyone involved in a dairy operation, anyone working on a farm, or anyone that
works with marketing of dairy products. Applications are available in the
guidance office. Deadline: March 3.
20. LOGAN
COUNTY RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP. This
scholarship is valued at $1,000 and will be awarded to a senior attending
Indian Lake, Riverside, Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, or West Liberty-Salem
High School. Applicants must plan to
attend a college or university and major in education. Deadline: March 4.
21. KRISTA MCDONALD MEMORIALSCHOLARSHIP. This $500 scholarship began in 2018
and is awarded by the Fraternal Order of Police Hi Point Lodge 60 in memory of
Krista McDonald who was tragically killed on October 14, 2017 when the
ambulance she was driving was struck by another vehicle that failed to stop at
a stop sign. This scholarship will be
awarded to a student with a 3.0 GPA or higher seeking further education to

FORSYTHE MILROY FOUNDATION LOANS. This $3,000 non-renewable
scholarship is available to students in Logan County, Ohio, desirous
of serving advanced agricultural education or an agriculturally- related
(such as Environmental Studies, Applied Nutrition, etc.) field in any Ohio
educational institution. Deadline: April 1.
23. MARY ELEANOR MORRIS/COLUMBUS FOUNDATION
SCHOLARSHIPS. These scholarships,
which are for $1,000 and are renewable for four years (a certain GPA must be
maintained), are awarded to five students from Logan County each year. Students who are recipients of the Ohio
Academic Scholarship, sponsored by the Ohio Board of regents will not be
eligible for the MEM scholarship. Also,
recipients of National Merit Scholarships of $4,000 or more will not be
eligible. Awarded by a special
countywide committee. Deadline: March 4.
24. SUSIE
PARKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. At least one $500 (minimum) scholarship will
be awarded to a BHS graduating senior who has at least a 3.0 GPA and who has
been accepted to an accredited four-year college or university in Ohio. The
scholarship must be used for tuition only. These scholarships will be awarded
by the Logan County District Library Board of Trustees. Deadline: April 6.
25. MARY
RUTAN FOUNDATION MEDICAL CAREERS SCHOLARSHIPS. These scholarships ranging from $500-$1,000 are for
Logan County residents and students who have been officially accepted into a
medical career program (i.e. medicine, nursing, pharmacy, allied medical).
Please note: Applicants enrolled in PRE-programs
(pre-medicine, pre-nursing, or pre-allied medicine) do NOT qualify. Scholarship recipient selections will
be made in late May. Deadline: April 1.
26. GUNNERYSERGEANT DAVID S. SPICER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Gunnery Spicer was a proud Marine who loved his
country and his family. On July 13, 2009, Gunnery Spicer was killed in action
fighting in Afghanistan. This scholarship is valued at $1,000 and will be
awarded to a Logan County graduating senior. Applicants must have at least a
3.0 GPA. All students are encouraged to
apply as well as those attending a college through an ROTC Program. Deadline: April 10.
27. STOLLY
INSURANCE GROUP “SUCCEED” SCHOLARSHIP.
Stolly Insurance group is
offering two $1,000 scholarships for the 2019-2020 school year. Any student graduating high school in 2020
who is a primary resident of Ohio and will enroll in post-secondary education
for the 2020-2021 school year is eligible to apply. The committee will take into consideration
current grades, extracurricular activities, leadership, work ethic,
application, essay, and applicant’s commitment to continued education. Deadline: February 14.

POST #1080 SCHOLARSHIP. This $500
scholarship will be awarded on the basis of leadership, financial need,
character, and scholastic ability. Applicants must have been accepted to a two-
or four-year college, technical school, or a vocational school. Deadline:

POST #1080 MEN’S AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP. This $500 will be awarded to a
student who will be enrolled in either a two or four-year college, technical
