Virgil Murphy

Virgil Murphy graduated from BHS in 1931 after playing four years of varsity football on some of the best teams ever coached by the late H.A. Dodd, a hall of famer. 
Murphy, a large man, played left tackle and fullback wand was the place kicker.  He also played basketball and baseball. 
He went on to Ohio Northern University where he played four years of varsity football.  He received his masters degree at UCLA and served the Seabees during World War II.  He taught in Dayton area schools for several years.
